A Makeup Artists Social Media Frustration

For a few years I have had this blog... This is actually my second. For the life of me I cannot keep up with posts or writing... I love makeup and I love being an artist. There is definitely no question about that. But the problem comes with keeping up with the "social" aspect of it all. I have this semi-abandoned blog, a YouTube channel that still gets views but I haven't done a video in 5 years. Then I started another channel about two years ago for rebranding reasons, but still not one single video. Then there is my Facebook page... the personal one and the one for my business, Melanie Jones Beauty. I am on Model Mayhem, which these days is a complete waste of time because of the quality of photographers, and models featured on the site. There is Wedding Wire, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and the list goes on of all the social media sites I belong to. I for one just cannot keep up! Hats off to the ladies who do it all.

I have a pretty consistent clientele base. I do a lot of weddings and just makeup in general. I have never understood how some bloggers, and YouTubers keep up with it all. When I am finished with my clients, answering emails, and cleaning brushes I don't want to do anything else. When it come to blogging, YouTube and social media in general... I just don't feel like it, but then again sometimes I do.

Maybe I need to develop some kind of system, or get better organized. I need to come up with a master plan. I would love to take you all on my journey in makeup... I used to enjoy doing the YouTube videos, but hated the actual process. It was a lot to sit there, do my makeup, record, edit, post, then take all of my makeup off, and clean up... Who has time?!?!?! Well, I do have the time. Maybe I'm just being lazy, or feeling uninspired. However, I did enjoy the feedback and it felt good to get such a good response.

Then there is this blog. I have no idea what to write about. I know that as an artist I love to do makeup, but I don't necessarily want to write about it. Well not all the time. I read a lot of other blogs though. For products reviews and such. I do know one thing, I am not interested in reviewing products. I am just interested in doing makeup... but is that enough for my readers and to keep them interested?

So I pose this question to anyone who has just read my ramblings.... What do you want to see? What do you want to read about? What keeps you interested and coming back? Would you be interested in various makeup looks? Tips and techniques? My journey in makeup? I definitely would love to get back into YouTube videos, what types of looks would you want to see? What do you want me to talk about???

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!! Keep me encouraged....

Tonight I think thats what I am going to do. I am going to sit down and organize. Get it together... brainstorm.... come up with some social media goals. But in the meantime check out my old YouTube channel, Facebook Fan page, and Follow me on Instagram, and hey you might as well Follow me on Pinterest too.. I will my info below...

Here Goes lol...
